CHRISTADELPHIAN MEAL A DAY
'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me.... whatever you did for one of the least of these ... you did for me.'

Uganda, Maganjo farmers

Maganjo Farmers Association  ( MAFA), Uganda

Wakiso is a very poor, rural area of Uganda . MAFA was set up in 2004 by five women farmers who were residents in Maganjo parish. They train small women farmer groups in sustainable and organic  farming practices, provide seeds and stocks and train in marketing, budgeting etc.  They now have 180 members.

Although initially targetted at women,  there are now 35 men as well !  In June 2009 CMaD funded a year's programme to train more women, and increase the number of trainers so more people can benefit.  We also provide funds for more seed and animals.

We will give a further update in December 2010.
